Business Spotlight: Sama Baby

Family — it’s at the core of Mindful Mama’s values, which is why we have to introduce you to the Gutapas. They’re the masterminds behind Sama Baby, and center their business on family and eco-friendly values!

“Sama” is an ancient Sanskrit word that means balance, calmness and serenity — a meaning the Gutapa family doesn’t take lightly! Sama Baby follows the highest standards when making their organic cotton garments, using eco-friendly dyes, an environmentally-safe dying processes, and biodegradable bags to store their fabrics.

“People ask me why we use all-natural products when creating our garments. They say the designs are so adorable they will sell themselves, but that’s not enough for us. Yes, we want to create beautiful garments but not at the expense of our planet. We want to do our part. I know Sama Baby can make a difference,” explained head designer, Neha Gupta.

Staying true to their heritage, the Guptas produce Sama Baby products in India, where the family frequently visits their cotton fields and oversees production. All Sama Baby products are fair-trade, and the farmers use organic vegetables as the rotation crop to replenish soil and feed cotton farmers.

Sama Baby’s denim line debuted last month, and we must say — the jeans are absolutely adorable (and affordable!). For more information, please visit Sama Baby online.
